Family, divorce and inheritance matters in Phuket
When family decisions involve relationships, children and assets together, explaining the full situation helps make the options clearer. Lawyer Prair, Khanittha Charoenphon, assists Thai and international clients with divorce, children and inheritance matters from our office in Mueang Phuket.
The issues you want to resolve
Divorce, shared assets and debts
We start with what the parties have agreed and what remains disputed. We review documents and prepare agreements addressing property, debts and children. If agreement cannot be reached, we consider the court process in light of the facts.
Parentage, parental authority and child support
Children’s matters involve relationship records, the history of care and actual expenses. We organise the facts and supporting documents to assess an agreement or petition that addresses the circumstances of that family.
Wills, estate administration and disputed assets
Whether planning ahead or dealing with a death in the family, we review documents and the source of the assets. Our work includes wills, estate administration matters, preparation of claims and negotiation where assets are disputed.
How we can help
- Mutual & Contested Divorce
- Child Custody & Support Battles
- Pre-nuptial Agreements
- Last Will and Testaments
- Appointing Estate Administrators
- Inheritance Dispute Resolution
Working together: process and fees
Explain your concerns and priorities
Tell us about the relationships, what is agreed or disputed and any urgent issue involving children, assets or scheduled dates, so we understand what you want to achieve.
Review the documents and options
We separate issues that may be addressed by agreement from those requiring consideration of a court process, and identify missing information for your family’s circumstances.
Discuss scope and costs before starting
We discuss whether the work involves advice, an agreement, negotiation or proceedings, together with the fees, so you can decide how you want to proceed.
An initial consultation is free. Further work and fees are discussed before you decide to proceed.
Getting ready for a first conversation
Share what you already have. We can clarify which further documents are relevant when we discuss the matter.
- Relevant relationship documents, such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate or will
- Existing agreements and records of assets, debts or children’s expenses
- The issues you want resolved and whether anyone involved lives overseas
Questions before getting in touch
Can I ask about my options before deciding to divorce?
Yes. You can explain your concerns without deciding to start proceedings. We discuss the relevant information and documents to help you understand the issues before choosing what to do next.
What if a spouse or parent is overseas?
Tell us the nationalities, countries of residence, where the marriage or birth was registered and any travel plans. Start with the documents you have. Additional documents, translation, certification and attendance requirements depend on the matter and procedural stage; not every case can be handled entirely from overseas.
Can I discuss an inheritance before identifying every asset?
Yes. Start with what you know: your relationship to the person who died, any will found, and available asset or debt records. Tell us if an estate administrator has been appointed or proceedings have begun, so we can identify what is known and what still needs checking.
