What happened
A business client in Phuket wanted its legal documents and accounting records to work together from incorporation through day-to-day transactions. Separate, poorly coordinated advisers had been identified as a source of compliance, tax and administrative risk. The client wanted one coordinated service.
What we did
Our firm worked with its accounting partner on four connected areas:
- Incorporation: setting up the company and considering the legal protection and tax implications of its structure.
- Transaction documents: drafting and reviewing contracts and other documents used in the business's transactions.
- Financial reporting: supporting the submission of financial statements and taking over the closing of accounts for existing operations.
- Cross-checking records: checking that legal acts, financial entries and expenses corresponded and could be explained to the relevant authorities.
The outcome in this case
The client had a coordinated process connecting legal advice with the accounting work needed to carry it out. Contracts, expenses and financial statements were reviewed together, helping make the records easier to explain and reducing duplicated administration and associated costs.
